March 20, 2001 Meeting
This will let you bring up your browser OFF LINE
and select where YOU want to go without the advertising on most portal pages

The following should help in the event you missed the meeting or some of the procedures shown there

Read This First !
At the meeting we said you could not get in any trouble, although we did stress this be sure to save YOUR PRESENT START PAGE address before replacing it in your browser. This way you can return to the original settings if needed. You may also need it to access your accounts with your provider, if so it should be put on the new portal page as demonstrated.

1. Click here and download the self extracting file portal.exe

When asked tell the program to "Save the File" and remember where you put it !

2. Find the file with windows explorer and double click on it.

It will self extract the file portal.htm to your c: (root) directory.
If you lose it use the [ Start ] [ Find ] command and look for portal.exe

At this point you may wish to edit the new portal and try it our before installing it
This may be done in Note Pad, [File] [Open] [ C:\portal.htm ]
After editing open your Browser then test it using [File] [Open] [C:\portal.htm]
Once it is working to your satisfaction install it in one of the following ways.

to your new portal page
